8% DA hike for CGE from Jan 2013


The All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September 2012 declared by the Ministry of Labour on 31st October 2012 stood at 215 as against 214 for August 2012. Even if the average approximate CPI for October, November & December is taken as 212 consecutively then the Dearness Allowance from January 2013 works out to a rise of minimum 8% meaning that the Central Government Employees will be able to get the Dearness Allowance of 80%. The Various permutations and combinations are shown below for your perusal (Please note that the CPI for Oct, Nov & Dec 2012 are only approximate figures)

If the Average is 208.58 the DA from Jan 2013 would be 80.18%
If the Average is 208.33 the DA from Jan 2013 would be 79.97%
If the Average is 208.08 the DA from Jan 2013 would be 79.75%
If the Average is 207.83 the DA from Jan 2013 would be 79.53%
