100% Dearness Allowance from January 2014 (10% hike) confirmed

The All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of December, 2013 has been updated at the http://labourbureau.nic.in/indtab.html. The index has come down by 4 points and now stands at 239. With the December index available, Dearness Allowance for Central Govt Employee & Dearness Relief for Central Govt Pensioner from Jan-2014 will be 100%. There were chances of the DA becoming 101% .However the reduction in AICPIN of December 2013 conformed it at 100%.

The very purpose of compensating the pay with payment of Dearness Allowance is being defeated because of unbridled inflationary pressure on the economy and the consequent steep rise in the price of essential commodities.This has resulted in

Central govt staff stir on February 12, 13

The Confederation of  Central Government  Employees and Workers has called for a  countrywide stir  on February 12 and 13 to highlight their demands. The conferderation had urged the Central government employees to participate in the 48-hour stir. The major demands put forth by the confederation include merging dearness in basic salary, regularisation of temporary employees, review of salary allowances and other. Regional president of the confederation RN Parashar addressed two gatherings, one at Rail Mail Service (RMS) on Cantt side of the railway station and other at GPO on Bada Chauraha. Parashar said that the national president of the confederation KKN Kutti and national general secretary M Krishnan had urged the Centre to accept their demands while staging demonstration on January 9 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. 7th Pay Commission Pay Analysis by Confederation

Providing proper minimum wage of Rs 27000/- for CG Employees including that of GDS employees and pay fixation formula: The staff side of the JCM had given representation demanding Rs 10,000/- as minimum wage for Central Government Employees. The 6th CPC in its report vide para no 2.2.15 had calculated a minimum wage of Rs 5478/- today if we are calculate the minimum wage it should be more than Rs 21,000/- apart from HRA and other allowances. Hence there is three times increase in actual prices calculated by the 6th CPC and the current prices. The current wages of the CG Employees should be doubled at least including that of GDS. The most comprehensive criteria for covering all the basic needs were evolved by the 15th Indian Labour Conference (ILC) in 1957 for fixing minimum wages.
