DoPT Guidelines for Lateral Entry against identified SAG/HAG posts requiring technical/ Specialized knowledge

No plan to increase central govt employees’ retirement age: Govt.

The DoPT is not been working on any proposal to increase the retirement age to 62 from 60 years for Central Government Employees.  A senior official from DoPT has confirmed the above news to media and also clarified that  a committee has been formed for increase the retirement age of specialists in scientific and medical fields (scientists) to 64 years.  The news article of Zee News, which is showing updation time of 13.28 of 16th June, it means it is very latest news in this regard, the text of the said news is reproduced below:-

Appointment of new Trustee Bank (TB) under National Pension System (NPS)

Controller General of Accounts (CGA) has instructed vide his No. 1(7)(2)/2000/TA/Pt.file/325 dated 12.06.2013 to all the Central Government Offices that they should continue to remit funds to the designated NPS Trust accounts being maintained with the current trustee bank i.e. Bank of India till 30th June, 2013.  Axis Bank as a new Trustee Bank in place of Bankd of India for National Pension System with effect from 1st July, 2013.  Text of CGA's letter is reproduced below:-

Pros and cons of raising the retirement age of Central Government Employees

Retirement Age for Central Government employees to enhance by two years from 60 to 62..!   Last week, the important decision was expected by the Cabinet Committee, which was held on 4th June 2013, but no decision taken in the meeting. Expected DA (Dearness Allowance) from July 2013 to central government employees

Since the implementation of 6CPC from 1-1-2006, the consumer price index number for industrial worker is not coming down ever but it is increasing month by month. Similarly the rate of dearness allowance paid to central government employees also increasing at the interval of every six months period. The rate of dearness allowance was at zero level on 01-01-2006. After six years from implementation of 6CPC, now the dearness allowance stands at 80% level. The average increase in the dearness allowance is at the rate of 13% per year. Actually there is nothing to rejoice over the increase of dearness allowance. Impact of raising retirement age from 60 to 62

It has been seen that one of the long time waging demand of raising the retirement age of govt employees has finally caught afire.  Through the Media and blogging sites re abound with news that the cabinet would announce news regarding the retirement age yet it has not been finalizes. Even then it has been come to known that a favorable decision would be put forth regarding this issue due to the oncoming lok sabha and three state assembly elections. In India the retirement ages of most of the state government employees range from 58 to 60. Scheme for wage negotiations for employees in CPSEs

This will benefit workmen of those  CPSE s which opted for 5 years of wage settlement w.e.f. 01.01.2007 and they can now go for another wage negotiation for 5 years w.e.f. 01.01.2012. 90% DA from July 2013

Expected DA from July 2013 – Ministry of Labour and Employment has released AICPI (IW) – All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers) for the month of April 2013.  This index gains significance as far as central government employees and pensioners are concerned as determination of Dearness Allowance twice in a year is based on AICPI (IW). All India Consumer Price Index for the period from July 2012 to June 2013 will be required to calculate expected DA from July 2013, for Central Government Employees and Pensioners.
