October CPI IW announced. 34% Dearness Allowance Expected from January 2022

The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, or CPI-IW, grew by 1.6 points to 124.9 in October 2021, according to the Labour Bureau, an affiliated office of the Ministry of Labour and Employment (one hundred twenty four and point nine). On a one-month percentage change basis, it climbed by 1.30 percent over the previous month, compared to a 1.19 percent gain between the same months a year earlier. The Food & Beverage group exerted the most upward pressure on the current index, contributing 1.31 percentage points to the overall change. Mustard Oil, Tomato, Onion, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Lady's Finger, Peas, Potato, Cooking Gas, Petrol for Vehicle, and other items are to blame for the index's rise. This increase, however, was largely offset by Moong Dal, Fish Fresh, Apple, Grapes, Orange, Ginger, and other commodities, putting downward pressure on the index. 18 months DA arrears likely to be discussed the cabinet secretary

The employees' expectations regarding their 18-month arrears have yet to be met. When the government announced the defreezing of the dearness allowance, it did so prospectively, with no arrears. The groups demanded that the arrears be given as well. However, the case of 18-month DA arrears is still unresolved. According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), the council has made a demand to the government that, in addition to restoring the DA, a one-time settlement of DA arrears owed for the past 18 months be completed.
