In a recent statement from an official in the Ministry of Finance, it has been revealed that Central government employees can anticipate a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) in the third week of September. This modest hike is attributed to the consistent containment of inflation by the Central government in recent months. The official further elaborated that the DA increase will be retroactively effective from July 1, 2023, impacting over one crore central government employees and pensioners. Factors Behind the 4% DA Hike: The official explained that the decision to implement a 4% DA hike is contingent on economic factors such as inflation and price fluctuations. Given the government's success in curbing price rises, central government employees should expect this incremental increase. This announcement will bring the total DA hike to 46%. Background: Currently, central government employees and pensioners receive a 42% dearness allowance, with dearness relief provided to pens
