October CPI IW announced. 34% Dearness Allowance Expected from January 2022
The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, or CPI-IW, grew by 1.6 points to 124.9 in October 2021, according to the Labour Bureau, an affiliated office of the Ministry of Labour and Employment (one hundred twenty four and point nine). On a one-month percentage change basis, it climbed by 1.30 percent over the previous month, compared to a 1.19 percent gain between the same months a year earlier. The Food & Beverage group exerted the most upward pressure on the current index, contributing 1.31 percentage points to the overall change.
Mustard Oil, Tomato, Onion, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Lady's Finger, Peas, Potato, Cooking Gas, Petrol for Vehicle, and other items are to blame for the index's rise. This increase, however, was largely offset by Moong Dal, Fish Fresh, Apple, Grapes, Orange, Ginger, and other commodities, putting downward pressure on the index. The year-on-year inflation rate for the month was 4.50 percent, compared to 4.41 percent the previous month and 5.91 percent the previous year. Similarly, food inflation was 2.20 percent, compared to 2.26 percent the previous month and 8.21 percent the previous year.
With this, it is almost certain that the Dearness Allowance for the Central Government Employees and the Dearness Relief for the Central Government Pensioners from January 2022 will be hiked by 3% to 34%.
