Revision of Grade pay of LDCs and UDCs: DoPT forwarded PMO's letter to JCA

DoPT has forwarded the PMO's letter regarding revision of Grade Pay of LDCs and UDCs belonging to Non-CSCS.  The content of the said letter, which has been published by Gen Sec AIAAS Shri TKR Pillai, is reproduced below:

No. 4/3/2013-PMP4/67682 dated 15.07.2013 received from Prime Minister's Office is forwarded herewith in original.  Shri TKR Pillai General Secretary of the All India Association of Administrative Staff (NG) has raised the issue regarding revision of Grade pay of LDCs and UDCs belonging to Non-CSCS.

2.   As the subject matter is relates to anomaly in the Grade Pay of LDC and UDC which is the subject matter of JCA section, they are requested to take necessary action in the matter under intimation to this Division.

50% Dearness Allowance (DA) & Dearness Relief (DR) expected from Jan, 2024

Labour Bureau has published All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for September 2023 which recorded a sharp decrease by 1.7 points, resulting in an index value of 137.5 (one hundred thirty-seven point five). September AI CPI-IW out. DA Expected to Cross 50% from January 2024

The Labour Bureau has published the All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the month of September 2023. The All-India CPI-IW declined by 1.7 points in September 2023, from 139.2 in August 2023. Based on the indices till August 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 was expected to cross 50%. However, even with the CPI-IW declining by 1.7 points in October 2023, still the DA can be 50% from January 2024. However, the chances of it becoming 51% is less. For the calculation of the DA, CPI-IW indices for 12 months, i.e. January 2023 to December 2024 are required. The indices for three more months are required to calculate the exact DA.
