381 Short Service Commission Officer posts at Indian Army

The Indian Army has released the Indian Army Short Service Commission (SSC) Recruitment 2024 Notification on 23/01/2024. This recruitment aims to fill 381 positions in the Indian Army. Eligible unmarried Male and unmarried Female candidates are invited to apply online. Interested candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can submit their applications online from 23/01/2024 to 21/02/2024.

Candidates will receive a monthly salary as given below, and other allowances will be applicable as per rules.

  • Lieutenant Level 10: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
  • Captain Level 10B: ₹61,300 – ₹1,93,900
  • Major Level 11: ₹69,400 – ₹2,07,200
  • Lieutenant Colonel Level 12A: ₹1,21,200 – ₹2,12,400
  • Colonel Level 13: ₹1,30,600 – ₹2,15,900
  • Brigadier Level 13A: ₹1,39,600 – ₹2,17,600
  • Major General Level 14: ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200
  • Lieutenant General HAG Scale Level 15: ₹1,82,200 – ₹2,24,100
  • Lieutenant General HAG +Scale Level 16: ₹2,05,400 – ₹2,24,400
  • VCOAS/Army Cdr/Lieutenant General (NFSG) – Level 17: ₹2,25,000
  • COAS Level 18: ₹2,25,000

Age limit:
Candidates can check the age limit for SSC Technical Officer Post below. The age limit of the candidate as of 01/10/2024 is as follows. Candidates must have been born between 02 October 1997 and 01 October 2004, both days inclusive.

  • SSC(Tech)- 63 Men and SSCW(Tech)- 34 Women: 20 to 27 years
  • SSCW (Non Tech) [Non UPSC] and SSCW(Tech) – widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who Died in Harness Only: 35 years.

Selection Process:
The selection will be based on the following:

  • SSB Interview (Stage I & II)
  • Medical Examination

September AI CPI-IW out. DA Expected to Cross 50% from January 2024

The Labour Bureau has published the All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the month of September 2023. The All-India CPI-IW declined by 1.7 points in September 2023, from 139.2 in August 2023. Based on the indices till August 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 was expected to cross 50%. However, even with the CPI-IW declining by 1.7 points in October 2023, still the DA can be 50% from January 2024. However, the chances of it becoming 51% is less. For the calculation of the DA, CPI-IW indices for 12 months, i.e. January 2023 to December 2024 are required. The indices for three more months are required to calculate the exact DA. Based on the indices till September 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 is almost certain to cross 50%.
