The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC Constable GD Recruitment 2023 through its official notification on 20th November 2023. This recruitment drive offers an impressive total of 75,768 regular openings. Annually, the Staff Selection Commission administers the Constable GD Exam, providing a gateway for aspirants seeking positions in esteemed forces like the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR), and Sepoy in NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau).

SSC GD Constable Salary:

Candidates will be paid on a monthly basis according to the Pay Level below.

  • Pay Level-1: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900
  • Pay Level-3: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100

SSC GD Constable Age limit 2023 (as on 01/08/2023):

Candidates must be under the following age restriction: 18 to 23 years as on 01/08/2023.

Age Relaxation:

Relaxation in the upper age limit for SSC GD Constable 2023 is as follows:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD - Unreserved): 10 years
  • Children and dependent of victims killed in riots: 5 to 10 years (based on category)
  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years

Selection Process:

The selection process will be based on five stages:

  • Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Medical Examination
  • Document Verification

September AI CPI-IW out. DA Expected to Cross 50% from January 2024

The Labour Bureau has published the All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the month of September 2023. The All-India CPI-IW declined by 1.7 points in September 2023, from 139.2 in August 2023. Based on the indices till August 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 was expected to cross 50%. However, even with the CPI-IW declining by 1.7 points in October 2023, still the DA can be 50% from January 2024. However, the chances of it becoming 51% is less. For the calculation of the DA, CPI-IW indices for 12 months, i.e. January 2023 to December 2024 are required. The indices for three more months are required to calculate the exact DA. Based on the indices till September 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 is almost certain to cross 50%.
