Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released a notification for the UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professor December 2023. Candidates interested in the vacancy details and who have completed all eligibility criteria are encouraged to read the Notification and apply online.

Educational Qualification :
Candidates should have possessed:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ B. Tech/B. Pharma/ MBBS with specified percentage marks as per category.
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with specified percentage marks as per category.
  • Final year/result awaited candidates have specific eligibility criteria mentioned

Examination Details:

  • Mode of Examination: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration of Examination: 180 minutes (03 hours)
  • Timing of Examination: will be Announced on NTA Website

Upper Age Limit (as on 01-07-2023):

  • For JRF: Maximum 28 years
  • For LS/ Assistant Professorship: No upper age limit
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Application Fee:

  • For General Candidates: Rs. 1100/-
  • For General-EWS/ OBC-Non Creamy Layer Candidates: Rs. 550/-
  • For SC/ST/ Third Gender Candidates: Rs. 275/-
  • For PWD Candidates: Nil

September AI CPI-IW out. DA Expected to Cross 50% from January 2024

The Labour Bureau has published the All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for the month of September 2023. The All-India CPI-IW declined by 1.7 points in September 2023, from 139.2 in August 2023. Based on the indices till August 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 was expected to cross 50%. However, even with the CPI-IW declining by 1.7 points in October 2023, still the DA can be 50% from January 2024. However, the chances of it becoming 51% is less. For the calculation of the DA, CPI-IW indices for 12 months, i.e. January 2023 to December 2024 are required. The indices for three more months are required to calculate the exact DA. Based on the indices till September 2023, the expected DA for central government employees from January 2024 is almost certain to cross 50%.
